Somers LIONS & BluePath Service Dogs: Paths to Independence

At the Somers Lions Club, we believe in building paths to independence, especially for families facing unique challenges. That’s why we’re proud to support BluePath Service Dogs, a remarkable local nonprofit that trains and places autism service dogs to bring safety, companionship, and greater freedom into the lives of children with autism and their families. BluePath’s expertly trained dogs offer much more than comfort, by working alongside parents and caregivers, they help prevent wandering, enhance social connection, and create opportunities for confidence and growth that might otherwise be out of reach.

BluePath’s mission is rooted in compassion and independence. From puppy raising and formal training programs to the careful matching of dogs with families, each service dog is prepared to become a trusted partner in everyday life. These dogs help reduce stress, support emotional well‑being, and empower children and their families to participate more fully in community life. Through our support, the Somers Lions are honored to help bring safety, freedom, and connection to families in need, making an impact one pawprint at a time.
