Sent with Love: The Valentine’s Project
The SHS Commons became a "Kindness Factory" on Jan 28th! Our Leos crafted 100+ handmade Valentines to bridge the gap with seniors at The Paramount Home and to celebrate the teachers who invest in us daily. Warm Hands, Warm Hearts
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Somers Leos gathered at the Van Tassel House to turn a "day off" into a "day on." The goal was simple: ensure no neighbor in Westchester faces the winter without the essentials. What started as a student-led idea by Sean Donnelly, Gabe Stor, and Alex Donnelly grew into a massive community effort. By the end of the afternoon, the team had collected over 30 bags of winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves.

Somers Lions and LEOs Rally for the U.S. Association of Blind Athletes
Members of the Somers Lions and Somers LEOs took on the Mudd Run at Thunder Ridge Ski Area to support the United States Association of Blind Athletes. Led by Lion Vinny Papa, the group raised $2,000 for programs that provide sports opportunities for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Service sometimes means getting a little muddy.

Somers LEOs Make a Splash for Special Olympics
In February 2018, 71 Somers LEOs took the plunge for Special Olympics at the Westchester Polar Plunge. Their bravery paid off, raising more than $27,000 and earning the top public school fundraising honor. The event supports year-round sports programs for athletes with intellectual disabilities and reflects the incredible service spirit of Somers High School students.

Somers LEOs Make a Splash for Special Olympics
Somers LEOs braved icy waters for a powerful cause during the Special Olympics Polar Plunge. Seventy-two students jumped in at Glen Island Park and raised more than $39,000 to support Special Olympics athletes across New York. Their incredible effort helped fund an entire season of sports training and competition for nearly 100 athletes.
