In 2009, Timothy Peterson’s life changed dramatically when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After undergoing intensive surgery and spending nearly a year in the hospital and rehabilitation, Timothy was left with neurological challenges and a visual disability called Right Hemianopsia. During this difficult time, his family faced overwhelming medical needs and expenses.

When Somers Lions Club member Glen Karoglanian heard Timothy’s story, he shared it with the club. The Lions organized a fundraiser by selling eye cleaning kits that included Timothy’s story, ultimately raising $3,800 for his family. Years later, the Somers Lions have continued to support Timothy and his mother through ongoing fundraising efforts, helping cover critical medical costs and therapies. Their compassion and commitment have been a powerful reminder that no one in this community faces hardship alone.
